Beat the Heat!

Happy Summer Solstice!

Now that school is out and it’s officially summer, it’s time to bring on all the summer activities and beach visits — and if you’re pregnant during the summer, find ways to keep cool and relaxed in this New England humidity!

If you’re wondering where to start, here are some helpful tips to beat the heat!

- wear light, loose & breathable clothing

- stay hydrated! Water is the obvious method of hydration, but remembering to drink water can be difficult. So, eat your water! Fruits like watermelon are a great hydrating fruit

- make homemade fruit popsicles or frozen fruit snacks. You can put grapes in the fridge/freezer for a perfect frozen treat, and homemade popsicles are the perfect activity if you have a toddler at home as well

- if you have a pool nearby, utilize it not just to stay cool but to get a little exercise in as well

Happy summer everyone!
