Welcome to Birthing Gently Doula Services, Midwifery Care and Professional Education
Birthing Gently was established in 2002 by Tara Poulin / Founder, CD(DONA),CCCE (CAPPA), DONA approved Birth Doula Trainer, as a solo practice. Since then Birthing Gently has grown into a multi-doula practice specializing in high risk deliveries. Our original Doula practice was established in Boston, MA and has expanded into Southern NH.
Many of our doulas have trained directly under Tara Poulin through our DONA approved Birth Doula Workshops. We can be identified at births by our logo on our unique navy blue uniform shirt. Our team at Birthing Gently is committed to providing affordable care to expecting and new families. We provide a nurturing environment for learning during pregnancy and beyond.
Our mission is to promote maternal and fetal well being. We provide an unbiased approach to our expecting families no matter what the plan for birth might be (i.e. Natural, Medicated or Cesarean Section). Please search our site and contact us with and questions or comments.

Doulas for Cesearean birth
Birthing Gently offers Doula support for Cesarean birth. We have developed a specific program used to try and balance out a high intervention delivery while helping mom to feel comfort, joy, reduced anxiety and a sense of well being.

Heart to Heart Program

Support Children's Hospital Donate today!
The Heart to Heart Program was founded by Tara Poulin in 2003 in an effort to help raise money for Children’s Hospital Boston and to support the families we serve who have become patients there.
Postpartum Counseling Service
Paula A. Wisnewski, LICSW, one of our birth doulas at Birthing Gently, is also a trained therapist who can provide specialized therapeutic home visits and treatment to new moms. Post-partum depression, anxiety, or other post-partum adjustment disorders can leave a mother unable to cope with the physical and emotional demands of caring for herself and her infant.
